NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Free National Movement Women’s Association continuing their push for legislation as it relates gender based violence.

Senator Michela Barnett-Ellis says this is a matter of national security and public health as draft legislation sits long overdue, on the shelf.

Senator Maxine Seymour says the government must take immediate and tangible action to protect the most vulnerable in the country.

She says she believes the government’s priorities are not in order.

President of the Women’s Association Vanessa Scott says education and awareness must start at home and it must start early.
