NASSAU, BAHAMAS – As the world continues to watch the unrest and violence unfold in Haiti, Bahamians are also cautiously following the crisis, a former Ambassador-At-Large and Charge d’Affaires and Consul General in the Republic of Haiti, Marilyn Zonicle,  is also weighing in.

She says there are three aspects to consider when understanding the current climate.

A multi-national task force is expected to be deployed to Haiti to assist with the growing gang violence plaguing the streets of Haiti.

We asked Zonicle if she believes now is the right time to send Bahamian troops to the struggling nation.

But, does Zonicle believe that one day Haitians could outnumber Bahamians here at home?

The former ambassador at large says she believes that Bahamians could play a role by inspiring our neighbours to gain skills they can use back at home.
