Former Junkanoo Leader’s Son Passes Away Months After Tragic Accident
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A sad update to a story we first brought to you in February. Tre Ferguson, the son of former One Family Junkanoo group leader Christina Fernander, has died. He passed away on Sunday after spending months in hospital.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A sad update to a story we first brought to you in February. Tre Ferguson, the son of former One Family Junkanoo group leader Christina Fernander, has died. He passed away on Sunday after spending months in hospital.
In the midst of pain and grief, Christina “Muffin” Fernander is celebrating the life her son lived.
Early on February 11th, her 21-year-old son did not come home. A good Samaritan found him on the side of the road in a wrecked car, later taking him to hospital.
Tre unfortunately passed away on Sunday, nearly 6 months after the accident.
Fernander telling us she’s coping by looking back on the good times.
Fernander is well-known in the Junkanoo community and is the former leader of the One Family organization… She says the cultural expression was also Tre’s passion.
