NASSAU, BAHAMAS – After months of silence and growing speculation, Killarney Member of Parliament Dr. Hubert Minnis is breaking his political silence on whether he’ll be staying in frontline politics. Despite not being nominated to run for the party he once led in the next general election, he addressed the issue in Parliament today. The former prime minister made it clear he’s not done yet.

Dr. Hubert Minnis – Member of Parliament, Killarney
“It is all too easy to give lip service to our concern for the poor and those under margins. Even as we use the power of office to hoard and to fill our pockets with earthly riches while others go without.”

He went on to tout the work done under his administration between 2017 and 2021.

Dr. Hubert Minnis – Member of Parliament, Killarney
“My government attempted to elevate the poor. We attempted to provide opportunity for all. We attempted to educate all. We attempted to present a formula that would allow housing for all.”

As for the future, Minnis has yet to announce if he plans on running as an independent.

Dr. Hubert Minnis – Member of Parliament, Killarney
“My job in this place is to give voice to them. Pay attention for better governance for our nation as a whole. It is a pleasure to be their representative in this place. Excuse me, and I look forward to continuing this representation.”
