NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A police constable was dismissed from the Police Force shortly before he appeared in court on accusations that he seriously injured a woman.

Former Constable Devaughn Curtis, 22, is accused of causing grievous harm to Brittney Marshall at The Bay Restaurant and Hookah Bar on October 25.

Curtis pleaded not guilty at his arraignment before Assistant Chief Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux.

Bail was set at $5,000 and a trial was set for January 26, 2026.
