GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – A new turn of events at the Fishing Hole Road Causeway in Grand Bahama as the Chief Councillor for the West Grand Bahama District has stepped in.

Early Wednesday morning, under George “Jimmy” Smith’s leadership, work crews were out making repairs to the causeway in order to reopen it to the motoring public.

This move comes following complaints from drivers that the Ministry of Works is moving too slow to make repairs to the causeway and the temporary service road that was opened to the public is inadequate, causing damage to cars and as well as accidents.

Shortly before noon, the causeway was reopened by the Chief Councillor which he believes is safer than the service road at this time. He says he is prepared for any repercussions.
