NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A number of Grand Bahama residents turned out for a recruitment exercise by The Bahamas Department of Correctional Services this week at the C. A. Smith Complex.

The Bahamas Department of Corrections is looking to recruit some twenty people on the island in various capacities, from nurses, pilots, teachers and chaplains.

The recruitment exercise is open to Bahamians until February 14th and BDOCS officials say those selected for the positions will be notified within two weeks.

A 16-week training exercise will follow which is scheduled to begin in March.

Applicant, Herbert Woodside, told Our News that the application process was smooth.

He is also encouraging young men to believe in themselves and says he is keeping his options open for placement.
