GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – A 60 percent jump in visitor arrivals up to November 2022, recorded in Grand Bahama, according to Deputy Prime Minister And Minister Of Tourism Chester Cooper who revealed the figures during the opening of the newly renovated domestic terminal Grand Bahama International Airport.

Cooper said at the time that overall arrival numbers for January to November stood at 326,272.

Whereas pre-covid, numbers stood at 491,000 air and sea arrivals in 2019.

The airport was destroyed by Hurricane Dorian back in 2019 and has been in disrepair ever since.

The airport terminal was constructed by United Orca Construction at a cost of $1.2m.

Cooper reiterated the commitment for a groundbreaking in the first quarter of this year.

Meanwhile, the northern island saw nearly 300,000 cruise passengers through November 2022.
