NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamas Union of Teachers President Belinda Wilson getting to the bottom of issues surrounding the teacher shortage on certain islands.

During a press conference, Tuesday, Wilson explained she knows of instances where teachers have requested Family Island assignments and have been turned down.

Education Minister Glenys Hanna Martin recently told the media that there was a teacher shortage because teachers did not want to accept Family Island assignments.
