Giant Pride: From Bay to the B-Ball Court, It’s A Big Celebration

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Dubbed Giant Pride Week, students, faculty, staff and administrators at St. John’s College are in celebration mode following their Junior Junkanoo win last month and their wins in the junior boys, junior girls and senior boys B.A.I.S.S. Basketball championships.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Dubbed Giant Pride Week, students, faculty, staff and administrators at St. John’s College are in celebration mode following their Junior Junkanoo win last month and their wins in the junior boys, junior girls and senior boys B.A.I.S.S. Basketball championships.

This week several events are planned leading up to their motorcade planned for Friday throughout the streets of New Providence.

On Tuesday a special assembly was held to honour the participants and athletes.

Twelfth grader Gabrielle Bethel was a choreographed dancer with the Jr. Junkanoo group. She said they knew they secured the bag after their first lap on Bay Street.

Principal Quinn McCartney says it’s always good to develop the whole student, not just academically but tHrough sports and culture.

Several events are planned for the rest of the week with the grand finale being Mardi Gras, that is set for saturday.
