NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Hundreds of motorists were left stranded as traffic came to a standstill in the areas surrounding the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium.

The backed-up traffic came as a result of the food voucher giveaway held at the stadium.

Lines of cars stretched well beyond the limits of the sporting complex to major roads such as University Drive, Tonique Williams Darling Highway, and Baillou Hill Road, leaving drivers perplexed and frustrated.

Police released a notice yesterday morning that a portion of University Drive between Moss and Portago Roads would be blocked off between the hours of 5:30 am and 12 noon.

However, this notice did not sit well with residents who flocked to social media to air their grievances with some complaints of arriving late to work.
