USA – In a major legal victory, Fortnite maker Epic Games triumphs over Google in a U.S court battle, with the jury ruling Google operated an illegal monopoly.

Epic CEO Tim Sweeney welcomed the verdict, citing a win against the “Google play monopoly.” Google plans to challenge but maintains android’s openness.

The ruling challenges Google’s app store dominance and transaction fees, potentially giving developers more control. If upheld, Google may face changes in app store access and revenue loss.

Epic Games, a pc competitor to steam, anticipates compensation consideration in January.
