Governor General, PM Send Condolences on Death of Queen Elizabeth II

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Governor General His Excellency Sir C.A. Smith is sending condolences on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, on behalf of the Government and People of The Bahamas.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Governor General His Excellency Sir C.A. Smith is sending condolences on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, on behalf of the Government and People of The Bahamas.

In a statement, the Governor General reflects on several visits Queen Elizabeth II made to The Bahamas. She died Thursday at the age of 96.

He invites all Bahamians to, “join in prayer for the repose of the soul of Her Majesty, and for the bereaved members of the Royal Family.”

Prime Minister Philip Davis also offering sincere condolences to The Royal Family. The Prime Minister has ordered that the National Flag be lowered today to half-staff and lowered again when the Official Mourning Period comes into effect.
