Govt: $654.3M in Revenue Collected in Q1 of FY2022

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Simon Wilson, Financial Secretary, reveals the government’s revenue collection for the first quarter of the 2022/23 fiscal year is estimated at $654.3 million.

This is a 9.7 percent increase from the previous year’s quarter.

The contributing factors were value added tax, which increased by $35.4 million, departure tax which saw a $26.9 million jump, and excise duties which saw $23.6 million in growth.

In addition, stamp tax grew by $1.8 million and expenditure decreased by 15 percent.
