NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The government is not backing down when it comes to those new price controlled items announced by the prime minister back in October.

Minister of Economic Affairs, Michael Halkitis set the record straight, explaining that the law is there and is to be followed.

The government added 38 items to its price control list as the country grapples with high inflation.

After a recent report alleged some grocers were not abiding by the set margins, Halkitis told reporters outside the weekly cabinet meeting that inspectors were inside grocery stores making sure there was compliance.
