GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – With each storm update, the possibility of tropical storm conditions became more real for the northern islands. Government agencies and the Department of Meteorology met this afternoon to shore up plans for Grand Bahama.

The Incident Command Center at the Obadiah H. Wilchcombe Complex is now fully activated. The relevant agencies guided the opening news conference today as well. Chief Meteorologist Tranard Tynes gave a preview of what Grand Bahamians can expect.

Safety Reminders from Government Officials

Minister for Grand Bahama, Ginger Moxey, and Member of Parliament for West Grand Bahama and Bimini, Kingsley Smith, reinforced the message to stay inside once the tropical storm conditions start.

District Administrator Leonard Dames also addressed the news conference.
