GRAND BAHAMA – Tonight on The Grander View, we’re focusing on the engine that keeps the Grand Bahama economy moving: small businesses.

With an active Whatsapp group and routine check-ins, Jecholiah Braynen says the association and business owners work hand in hand.

One of the biggest challenges they’ve been tackling in recent times?

Increasing foot traffic and finding ways to turn that traffic into revenue.

Once that mandate was clear, she says the association answered the call, developing a calendar of events designed to draw Grand Bahamians back into Downtown Freeport and encourage them to shop local.

While those initiatives have shown positive results, Braynen says the long-term goal is sustainability.

Braynen also commending those entrepreneurs who have stood the test of time, while encouraging new and creative businesses to keep opening their doors.
