GUYANA – A high-profile elections fraud trial in Guyana now set to begin on March 4, involving former Government Minister Volda Lawrence and others.

The defendants are accused of conspiring to defraud electors during the March 2, 2020, elections.

The case, delayed for years, will be heard at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

During a recent case management conference, dates for evidence-taking were scheduled.

The trial will span March 4-8, with additional sessions in April and May. Special prosecutor in the case is Darshan Ramdhani.
