NASSAU, BAHAMAS – From local clients to international customers from as far as Zimbabwe, Africa, professional makeup artist, Mandisha Smith shares the biggest lesson she’s learned about the perfect beat.

Denielle Miller
“The month of January is coming to an end and you know what that means, events, events and more events. Break time is over it is time to go outside and sometimes I understand that finding the right face of makeup can be a challenge but I have Mandisa who has been an expert in the makeup department for more than eighteen years to show you to get that perfect beat.”

Mandisha Smith, professional makeup artist
“One thing that I’ve learned during this time is that skin is actually the true foundation before anything.”

So how do you find your true foundation to enhance your natural glow?

Mandisha Smith, professional makeup artist
“What I like to do is when I’m testing persons for a foundation I like to do a three swatch on the jaw line and the color that actually melts into the skin is your shade. Concealer I like to choose maybe a shade lighter than your actually foundation because concealer is made to target not to put all over the face.”

“What I like to do when I’m putting on foundation is I like to pat because we actually want to get the makeup into the skin we don’t want to swipe because then it’s going to leave streaks.”

“If you can feel where I’m putting your concealer, I’m targeting areas right now under your eyes over your lip down your noise and on the forehead. So it suppose to give the appearence of the sun kissing you.”

And with the swipe of Smith’s brush, she applied the setting powder, eyeliner, blush, face powder, eyebrows and in less than 45 minutes the natural beat was complete.

A look that not only transformed my features, but enhanced.

Denielle Miller
“Fellas you once you hear that sound you know it’s time to go.”
