NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 40-year-old Haitian national is behind bars after he was accused of the ongoing sexual abuse of his stepdaughter.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 40-year-old Haitian national is behind bars after he was accused of the ongoing sexual abuse of his stepdaughter.

His name has been withheld to protect the identity of the 13-year-old girl.

The man was not required to enter pleas to charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a dependent when he stood before Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans.

The sexual abuse allegedly began in June 2024 and continued until February 2025.

The accused returns to court on July 16 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
