GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – The crisis in Haiti is escalating. Many schools and banks are closed and the country’s healthcare system is on the brink of collapse.

Hundreds of people have been slaughtered and homes and businesses are being burnt to the ground leaving many to wonder where to go.

Grand Bahama Pastor Abner Mues says conditions in Haiti are deteriorating each day and for the first time in Haiti’s history, the schools and banks are closed.

Airlines have also halted flights which he says is not the norm.

He describes what the conversation is like when he speaks with his family members at home.

And seeing the chaos for Pastor Mues, is depressing.

As for whether he thinks the recent resignation of former Prime Minister Ariel Henry will make a difference for that Caribbean nation?

But he says the problem now is the people of Haiti feels as if they don’t have a voice.

He’s calling on the people of Haiti to live in peace as he says violence will not solve the issues.

He hopes that The Bahamas and other CARICOM nations sends officers to Haiti as he says the help is needed.
