Haitian Women Deny Obtaining Bahamian Passports Through Fraud

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two Haitian women have denied obtaining Bahamian passports through fraud.

Prosecutors allege that Keva Tanis, 22, and Bonike Pierre, 23, used forged NIB smart cards to obtain Bahamian passports.

The women pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of forged documents, uttering forged documents and fraud by false pretenses when they stood before Senior Magistrate Kendra Kelly.

They remain free on police bail and return to court on March 16.
