NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police officers continuing their efforts to connect with communities as part of their plans to increase police saturation.

Police officers conducting a walk about in the Hay Street community Friday, hoping to inform the community and help them connect with police officers on a more personal level.

But some residents say it will take more than one walkabout to solve some of the residual walls between community and law enforcement.

This resident however is grateful for the increased police presence, saying residents can’t rest or let their guard down with the way things are right

Derelict vehicles being used as stash locations has also been an ongoing issue.

Salem Union Baptist Church Pastor Heuter Rolle tells us he welcomes the increased police presence. The pastor does after-school and outreach programs, but says they sometimes come with trouble.
