NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The COVID-19 vaccine for children may soon be available in The Bahamas, according to Health Minister Dr. Michael Darville. This as the health minister also announced big changes for the travel health visa.

Traveling to The Bahamas will soon be easier for international travelers, as it was announced in parliament, that visitors will no longer need to present a travel health visa to enter the country as of Sunday, June 19th, at 12:01 am.

Giving an update on the nation’s vaccination status, the health minister also announced the government has secured 24,000 doses of the Pfizer pediatric vaccines by way of the CIVAC facility.

The minister says he has seen firsthand how staff shortages in the healthcare system has impacted services.

To this end, he says some 478 healthcare professionals will be joining the ministry.
