NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Chairman of the World-Famous Valley Boys, Brian Adderley, slamming Culture Minister Mario Bowleg after he recognized the way forward, led by Trevor Davis, as the only Valley Boys.
Bowleg, made the bold statement at last week’s Junkanoo seed funding ceremony, where Adderley’s faction was noticeably absent.
Surrounded in a room filled with supporters at Faith United Missionary Baptist Church last night, Adderley says the group will be on the bay this Junkanoo season.
Comments made by Youth Sports and Culture Minister Mario Bowleg are not sitting well with the world-famous Valley Boys.
Bowleg told reporters last week that in the eyes of the law, there’s only one Valley Boys… he was referring to the group led by Trevor Davis, known as the Way Forward Valley Boys.
The saga between the two factions has gone on for more than a year, causing tension within the group and confusion among loyal fans and supporters.
World-famous Valley Boys chairman, Brian Adderley, says they couldn’t help but speak out, claiming there’s no court ruling that states there’s only one Valley Boys.
Brian Adderley – Chairman, World Famous Valley Boys
“We ask the courts to review the Registrar General’s registration of an entity called Valley Boys. that’s not been heard as yet. Because in the first instance, the lower court said that there was nothing that could be heard. so we’ve gone to the appeals court and asked the appeals court to review the matter with a view of having a judiciary review on the registrars decision to register an authorized entity, and the appeals court to review the judges decision not to hear the matter.”
Adderley’s faction did not receive any seed funding, Bowleg saying they didn’t get it because of the court ruling.
Those on the way forward side are now welcoming valley boys sponsors to support them, and Adderley’s camp is taking note.
Brian Adderley – Chairman, World Famous Valley Boys
“The intent of the ministers statement, whether it’s deliberate or inadvertent was to suppress potential sponsorship, also when the minister of government speaks, potential sponsors take note. his statements are also being viewed by our legal team as we feel he has injured us with those statements “
And of course there’s always the chance of them performing in the f category, but when i asked Adderley about the possibility, he pushed back.
