ELEUTHERA, BAHAMAS – The quaint settlement of Tarpum Bay is situated between Rock Sound and Savannah Sound.

It’s been home to the Hilton family for generations.

But the family doesn’t just have roots in the South Eleuthera community, they also have a family-owned business that includes a 10-room hotel as well as a restaurant and bar that serves up delicious food and refreshing drinks.

Dr. Ge’anne Hilton says it all started with her grandaunt, who the family affectionately calls Aunt Mary.

She opened Hilton’s Haven in the 1970’s and it quickly became a favorite for visitors.

Ge’anne showed me hundreds of signatures from a nearly 50-year-old visitors’ log where guests from across the world signed in.

And the property has been thriving ever since, recently undergoing renovations to make it a modern boutique hotel that even features a pool.

In addition to being a family business, the property is also a homestead for the Hiltons who don’t live on Eleuthera but visit regularly.

It’s where Ge’anne and her sister Kayann have some of their fondest memories.

Now those memories are being shared by local and international visitors who stay at the hotel.

Hilton’s Haven Manager Lawrence Rolle says they have a lot to offer guests.
