Hotel Union Now The Bargaining Agent For Club Med Employees

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Employees at the Club Med Columbus Isles Resort in San Salvador are once again unionized.

The Bahamas Hotel Catering and Allied Workers Union is set become the bargaining agent for the 145 employees.

The hotel closed in the COVID pandemic and workers were unrepresented since it reopened.

Union President Darrin Woods making the announcement this week as the union makes plans to visit the island this month.

Club Med’s closure crippled the economy of San Salvador as the hotel was the main employer there.

Labour Minister Keith Bell delivering the certificate of recognition on Thursday opening the door for the hotel union to represent the workers again.
