NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Kache Knowles has been creating apparel for her iisaBahaminBey brand now for six years and once again this year she has curated a special line for the country’s Independence celebrations dubbed ‘Gern to Da Island.’

And Knowles’ creative process is heavily connected to observing Bahamian culture.

But I was curious, so I asked Kache whether she’s been to all the islands.

“No,” she said.

“I want to, that’s my long-term dream so I’ve been to maybe seven islands. I’ve never been to the southern Bahamas so thats really my, like let me just make it to the southern Bahamas and say that I been to one.”

So how can you get your hands on the merch in time for Independence Day?

“Everything is going to be on my website on Friday,” Knowles said.

“You’ll be able to completely order everything that you could possibly want, get one of each, buy one for your whole family. I also partnered with Boneville Bones in the mall and they’re going to be carrying my entire collection as well, Independence collection and things that I’ve had either before or things I will have in the future. You can also find them in Eleuthera at my mom’s store – Norma’s Gift Shop in Governors Harbour.”
