NASSAU, BAHAMAS – With Independence Day just a few days away, Bahamians have been out and about preparing for the big day.

Bahamians are pulling out all the stops this year, in honor of the country’s 50th year of independence.

Manager at Home Fabrics Eldica Gittens says if you came to their store this week you could hardly find parking space.

Over at Commonwealth Fabrics, head cashier Maegan Saunders says their custom fabrics for the 50th anniversary have been a hot seller.

But bigger businesses aren’t the only ones stepping up their game this year.

Our News also spoke to a small business owner who says the decision to sell independence paraphernalia was a no-brainer.
