LEBANON – Hezbollah says its Senior Commander Mohammed Nimah Nasser was killed in an Israeli air strike in Southern Lebanon, the Associated Press reported Wednesday.

Israel has accused Nasser of directing numerous rocket attacks.

Hezbollah launched 100 rockets at Israeli positions in response, with no reported injuries.

Recent violence has raised fears of a wider conflict, with over 400 killed in Lebanon and 25 in Israel.

Diplomatic efforts are ongoing to de-escalate tensions.
