MIAMI GARDENS – The annual Jazz In The Gardens Festival, now in its 18th year in the historic Miami Gardens is a staple for Bahamian music lovers.

For a first timer , it should be understood immediately why It’s seen as a big Miami family reunion where Bahamians come to party.

On day 1 audiences were treated to the sensational Coco Jones, and Tye Tribbett’s hand clapping foot stomping gospel performance.

90’s all female group Xscape got the audience going In the warm-up to “Ms. Lauryn hill.”

If her legendary vocal talents weren’t enough to Entice the crowd, she performed against the backdrop of an elaborately transformed stage and a vintage video montage.

Eventually joined by her sons Zion and YG Marley and longtime friends Busta Rhymes, Spliff Star, and Doechii.

The highlight was the nostalgia of Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean reuniting to perform those beloved hits of The Fugees from almost 3 decades ago.
