Jamaica Feels The Impact Of 5.1 Magnitude Earthquake

JAMAICA – Parts of Jamaica felt the effects of a 5.1 magnitude earthquake Saturday afternoon at around 4:35 pm, the epicenter was located 43 kilometers from Kingston.

JAMAICA – Parts of Jamaica felt the effects of a 5.1 magnitude earthquake Saturday afternoon at around 4:35 pm, the epicenter was located 43 kilometers from Kingston.

While there are currently, no reports of deaths, Foreign Affairs Minister Fred Mitchell said he spoke with Bahamians there.

Mitchell says from all reports, Bahamians in Jamaica are doing okay.

Effects of the quake were also felt in Haiti, the United States minor outlaying islands, and Cuba.
