WASHINGTON, U.S.A – George Washington University Athletics Director Tanya Vogel inducted Jonquel Jones into the university’s Athletics Hall of Fame in a ceremony Friday night.

The Grand Bahama-born center averaged 15.4 points per game in three seasons there after transferring from Clemson after her freshman year.

She would graduate as the third Colonial to ever score 1000 points, grab 800 rebounds and block 100 shots in her career.

Here she is reflecting on her career.

NBA

The 6’4″ shooter from Grand Bahama lived up to his “Buddy Buckets” moniker Friday night, scoring 20 points, including a clutch layup with 1:21 left in the game, along with four rebounds and six assists.

Unfortunately, that wouldn’t be enough as his Sixers lost to the Atlanta Hawks, 127-121 behind 37 points and 12 assists from the Hawks’ Trae Young.

Kelly Oubre led the Sixers with 28 points and 12 rebounds on the night.

B.A.I.S.S. Basketball

The mighty Giants owned Friday night with both girls’ teams winning game three of their respective series to take B.A.I.S.S. titles.

In the Junior Girls game, they defeated Kingsway in a 15-12 defensive struggle while the senior girls played a thriller against Kingsway in the finale, prevailing 36-34.

St. John’s also took the junior boys title as well.

Congrats to all three teams.
