NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Court of Appeal has upheld a judge’s decision to deny bail to an Aliv technician accused of a revenge murder.

Davan Brennen is charged with the Janaury 26 murder of Philaeria Sands at Finlayson Street, which is believed to be retaliation for the murder of Mario Brown, a reputed gang leader in the Kemp Road, earlier that day.

Prosecutors allege that Brennen, while driving an Aliv van, was part of a four-vehicle convoy that left Kemp Road.

During the journey, members of the convoy allegedly fired shots at various locations, including Finlayson Street.

Men from one of the vehicles in the convoy emerged and fired a barrage of shots at a group of men in the yard.

The shooting resulted in the death of Sands, who was asleep in a car with her days old newborn when she was fatally shot.
