NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A murder accused will remain behind bars after a judge rejected his second bail application.

Prosecutors say Bardon Major, 22, otherwise known as Brandon Major, is responsible for the fatal stabbing of Sanchez Gittens.

The incident happened at a bar on East Street and Soldier Road on January 27. Major first applied for bail in February and was denied.

According to him, prosecutors have missed several dates to present voluntary bill of indictment papers.

Major also claimed that prison food is making him sick. As a result, he said his family has to bring him food, resulting in financial hardship.

Justice Guillimina Archer-Minns refused Major, citing a rise on retaliatory killings.

She also said that Major was a potential flight risk.
