NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Twenty-eight-year-old Dwayne Lodimus has been found guilty of a broad daylight execution murder.

It took the nine-member all-woman jury to return a guilty verdict of 8-1.

Lodimus, who showed no emotion at the finding, will appear before Justice Renae McKay on October 24 for the sentencing phase of his trial.

On March 19, 2019, Elroy Burrows was standing outside a bar on Mackey Street when a lone gunman shot him in the head and body, killing him on the spot.

An off-duty policeman said that was at Wilton Street when he heard eight to nine gunshots.

A short time later, he saw the gunman, whom he later identified as Lodimus, running towards him.

The officer said he kept the gunman under observation until he jumped into a silver two-door Honda Accord with no license plates attached.

Lodimus was arrested in vehicle that fit the description of the getaway car on April 8, 2019, at the Golden Gates Shopping Centre.

Police officers recovered a Luger 9mm pistol wedged between the passenger seat of the car.

Ballistics testing showed that the recovered gun fired the bullets that were collected from the murder scene.

Lodimus exercised his right to remain silent at his trial.

However, his lawyer Tonique Lewis challenged the quality of the identification through cross-examination.

Lodimus was tried along with his brother Anton Lodimus, who was acquitted after the judge found he had no case to answer.

Uel Johnson was the prosecutor.
