KENYA – Kenya is sending 900 military troops to the eastern Congo to join a new regional force, to try and calm deadly tensions fueled by armed groups.

Kenya’s President William Ruto calling the mission “necessary and urgent” for regional security.

Congo’s president agreed on how Kenyan forces would work with Congolese forces.

Meanwhile, just Tuesday angry crowds set fire to united nations vehicles in Goma as frustrations mount over the rebels advance and deteriorating security in the east.

Violence by armed groups is leading to diplomatic crisis between Congo and neighboring Rwanda.
