NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It’s a tragedy that no one saw coming, 22-year-old Kevon Taylor was killed after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle in Farmer’s Hill, Exuma just after 1AM on Monday morning.

He leaves behind two young children, babies whose dad will never see them grow up.

He also leaves behind grieving parents, siblings, aunts, uncles and friends.

His girlfriend Branique Forbes, says losing her best friend and the father of her one-year-old son is not something she could’ve ever imagined.

“He was always the life of the party, he never wanted to see anyone down, he always tried to uplift me, he wanted the best for me, he wanted the best for our son, and I always wanted the best for him,” she said.

His mother, Alicia Coakely, says there are no words to describe losing her son, because his life was cut short at 22 years.

Coakley says he will always be her little boy.

“Such a loving, kind, mannerly boy, oh that was my heart oh god, as you can see everybody…talking so well about him,” she said.

The impact Kevon had on his island community is evident, with the tributes continuing to pour in on social media.

Taylor is the second family island motorcyclist to be killed in a crash this month.

On June 30th 18-year-old Jimmy Johnson died, and another teen was injured after their motocycle crashed into a car in Central Andros.

Last week Johnson’s mom, Phillippa Christie warned of the dangers of riding motorcycles, and though the two women are strangers, they share a similar message after losing their sons to tragic motorcycle accidents

“Be humble, be kind in this cold world, and these bikes put them down, the bikes is a weapon of destruction [sic],” she said.
