NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Convicted murderer Kofhe Goodman says authorities have violated his constitutional rights.

Goodman is serving a 55-year sentence for the murder of 11-year-old Marco Archer in 2011.

He told Justice Renae McKay that he’d been denied immediate medical care after he was shot in the left arm during an altercation at the prison.

Similarly, Goodman says he didn’t get adequate care for an eye injury after a corrections officer allegedly hit him.

According to Goodman, prison officials prevented him from sending documents to his London-based lawyers, leading the Privy Council to refuse him leave to appeal his conviction in 2022.

Goodman also had complaints about housing conditions and the poor quality of food at the prison.

Justice McKay will hear full arguments in May.
