UKRAINE – Kyiv marked another year of Russia’s full-scale invasion Tuesday, as residents stood in silence while soldiers lowered military flags across the capital.

Mourners chanted “glory to the heroes” before falling quiet, honouring the dead from Europe’s deadliest conflict since World War II.

Hundreds of thousands of troops on both sides have been killed or wounded, while Russian missile and drone strikes have left tens of thousands of Ukrainian civilians dead and cities in ruins.
