NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Department of Labour continues its efforts to take job opportunities throughout the communities Saturday morning.

Residents of the Carmichael road area filled the Flamingo Gardens park as over 40 companies conducted interviews with potential employees.

Director of Labour, Robert Farquharson says over 300 persons pre-registered to attend.

A number of company representatives noted that while skill is important, they are looking for candidates with great personalities that are willing to learn.

Julieth Mccafferty of AML Foods says they too are looking to fill a number of positions across their various businesses.

She adds that she was pleased to see the number of young men taking part despite the common assumption that they are uninterested in working.

If you missed this labour on the blocks initiative, the director says there are more to come.
