NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Preservation, education, connectivity, and economic enhancement all define the mission of Eleuthera’s Inaugural National Park. Situated in Governors Harbour Eleuthera, the site has recently concluded its third phase opening.

Friday January 6th marking the completion of the third phase of the Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve. Its focus is research and its state of the art office and lab facilities, key in discovering and investigating various plant and animal ecosystems.

A walk on the boardwalk through the mangroves give a glimpse into the beautifully lush environment but the plants are not alone.

The site is multi-purposed and has a number of facilities to also support the community.

Lakeisha Wallace is the Preserve’s Manager.

Area MP Clay Sweeting sees the site as a catalyst for boosting the local economy and an opportunity to educate the island’s youth.
