Here in The Bahamas, those in the Catholic faith are joining in prayers for his recovery.

Our News sat down with the Roman Diocese of Nassau to discuss the Pope’s condition, its impact on the church and what it means for catholics locally and around the world.

Pope Francis, the leader of over a billion Catholics worldwide has been battling health challenges, raising questions about the future of the church.

Here in The Bahamas, the Catholic community has also been praying for the Pope.

With Pope Francis’ influence across the Caribbean, Roman Catholic archbishop Patrick Pinder says the Pope has spent 11 nights in hospital and his condition has been listed as critical.

The archbishop says Pope Francis leadership has played a key role in shaping the church.

Archbishop Pinder has had several opportunities to meet the Pope.

The uncertainty surrounding the Pope’s health has sparked discussions about the churches leadership.

The archbishop says the Pope is still on the job, following several social media reports of the popes health condition.

The archbishop encouraging people to only listen to reputable media outlets.

For now, he says the focus remains on prayer and faith.
