NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Debate on the 2023/2024 budget continuing Thursday afternoon with Member of Parliament for Long Island, Adrian Gibson, calling the budget communication “Unimaginative”.

He says while the government promised no new taxes, he believes this budget proves quite the contrary and come July 1st, it will be a new day with new taxes.

The Opposition mp says he does support some aspects of the budget, such as the amendment to the Family Island Encouragement Act, the Agricultural Sales and Services Bill and the amendment for an increase in the Constituency Capital Grant.

But there were still aspects he took exceptions to.
