NASSAU, BAHAMAS – After a global software outage on Friday resulted in tens of thousands of flight delays and thousands of cancellations worldwide, officials at The Lynden Pindling International Airport tell us how the major airport managed over the weekend.
It all started last Friday, when a routine software update at cybersecurity company, crowdstrike, kicked off what’s being called the largest it outage in history.
The widespread tech meltdown caused chaos in aviation, banking, and broadcasting.
Stand up: according to Flightaware, more than forty two thousand flights were delayed, and almost five thousand flights were cancelled worldwide on Friday, and The Lynden Pindling International Airport saw its own share of delays on Friday morning.
At the time, Knowles gave us this update, but the airport is back on its feet, with Knowles telling us, as of Monday of this week.
