Lyford Cay Dragons Sweep National Tournament

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Lyford Cay Dragons dominated the National High School Soccer Championships, as both their boys’ and girls’ teams were crowned national champions, securing a clean sweep for the school.

The girls’ team faced off in a thrilling final against Queen’s College and emerged victorious with a tight 2-1 win. On the boys’ side, the Dragons completed the sweep with a commanding 2-0 shutout over Government High School.

In third-place matchups, Windsor edged out St. George’s in a nail-biting 3-2 finish, while C.R. Walker cruised to a dominant 7-2 victory over Bishop Michael Eldon.

Kudos to the mighty Dragons for taking home the gold once again!

Women’s Golf Day Celebrated at Baillou Hills

Shifting gears to the green, the Bahamas Women’s Golf Association, in collaboration with the Flamingos Golf Club, concluded its second annual Women’s Golf Day event on Saturday at the Sports Center Golf Academy in Baillou Hills.

Gina Gonzalez-Rolle joined the celebration, highlighting the success and growing interest in the sport. According to Agatha Delancy, President of the Women’s Golf Association, the event was part of a global initiative to promote golf among women and girls.

A total of 29 golfers, men and women, participated in the weekend’s festivities, which included a skills clinic on Friday and a scramble tournament on Saturday afternoon. The event wrapped up with prizes, awards, and a reaffirmed commitment to growing and protecting the game for future generations.
