MAKO Wins As Records Broken At The Pool

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Records fell on the final day of the Bahamas National Swimming Championships as MAKO Aquatics Swim Club was crowned the five-time defending champions.

The club racked up 2,689 points; their head coach is Travanno McPhee.

Coming in second was the Barracuda Swim Club with 1,569 points and in third, Alpha Aquatics with 1,519 points.

Now we spoke to some of those new national record holders and how they felt their races went.

Meanwhile, Jonquel Jones logged her first double-double of the season as her New York Liberty pummeled the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday, 89-71.

JJ scored 13 points on 5 of 10 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds in the rout. 

Breanna Stewart added 28 points and 14 rebounds. 

The Mercury were playing without star center Brittney Griner, who was out with a hurt hip, giving JJ free reign in the paint. 

Sophie Cunningham led Phoenix with 27 points.
