NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man accused carrying out a murder plot that was masterminded by a government official has decided to stay in jail for the time being.

Dontee Riley abandoned his appeal against a judge’s decision to refuse him bail.

Riley is accused of the August 2024 murder of Philip Adderley, who was found hog-tied in waters near South Ocean, with multiple stab wounds about the body.

Former government official Mario Bannister is accused of conspiring with the alleged killers and acting as an accessory after the fact.
