NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man accused of impregnating a teen girl, who later had an abortion, is expected to be tried next month.

Alonzo Pinder’s trial is set to begin on October 27 before Justice Guillimina Archer-Minns.

Prosecutors alleged that 26-year-old Pinder had relations with the 15-year-old  in July 2023 in Harbour Island, Eleuthera.

Prosecutors alleged that Dr. Jamil Minnis, the son of former Prime Minister Hubert Minnis, terminated the pregnancy

He was charged with performing an abortion and the teenager’s mother and sister were accused of conspiracy to commit abortion.

But prosecutors dropped the charges against them earlier this month.
