NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 31-year-old man accused of killing his pregnant mistress is seeking bail.

Reuben Cartwright is charged with the murder of Lauren Saunders, his coworker at Albany and alleged lover.

Saunders’ decomposing body was found in bushes off Munnings Road on October 22, 2025, three days after her family reported her missing.

In arguing for bail, defense lawyer Tamika Roberts said they case was weak since the pathologist could not determine how Saunders died.

The prosecutor, Karine MacVean, countered that Cartwright told police that Saunders died during consensual strangulation during sex.

Senior Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson has reserved her decision.
